Energy and climate

By 2030, Genève Aéroport aims to improve its energy efficiency by 25 per cent compared to 2020 and to increase the share of renewable energies to 70 per cent. It plans to certify future major projects in accordance with the DGNB Gold sustainable building standard and the Geneva TPHE standard. November 2022 saw the start of work on the thermal plant that will connect the airport to the GeniLac district heating network. The plant will allow the airport to move gradually toward heating and cooling all its buildings using 100 per cent renewable energy from 2026.
